How is soccer age determined?
Soccer age is determined by the child’s age on July31 for the upcoming Fall and following Spring seasons. The “U” stands for Under when describing soccer age. U10 means Under 10 years old on July 31, so if a player is 10 years old on or before July 31, their soccer age is 10. 10 year olds are placed in the Under 12 age group for the fall and following Spring seasons since they are not under 10 years old anymore. Our league uses a 2 year age bracket. If a player turns 10 on August 1 or later, their soccer age is still 9 for the fall and upcoming Spring because they were 9 years old, thus under 10, on July 31. They will be placed in the U10 age group.
